PREPARING FOR SPRING WITH CLINIQUE

Now is the time to prepare for the Spring.

There was no chance to hibernate but I am trying to get some good sleep. I'm using an old favourite, Clinique All About Eyes Rich, to hopefully diminish those dark shadows under my eyes.

I'm also trying a new cleanser, Clinique Redness Solutions Soothing Cleanser with probiotic technology.  This is a very gentle cream-gel and is proving to be very soothing to skin ravaged by cold weather.

GREY WINTER, SLEEP AND BLUE LIGHT

On these cold, grey days, I often think how clever animals like brown bears and squirrels are.  They hibernate, keep warm and sleep deeply. Then, they emerge in Spring all bright eyed and beautiful.

Apparently there's an "insomnia epidemic" in London.  Work pressures, stress, too much coffee and working too late had all been blamed. Now, a recent study on sleep quality reveals that BLUE LIGHT from screens can be detrimental to our sleep. It can also eventually damage our eyes.

Butterflies Eyecare are now supplying Ocushield Screen Protectors, blue light filter for Apple devices.  Click on the link below to read more about this new product.

Spring at CHANEL

The weather here has an Arctic feel but at CHANEL it's SPRING!!!

CHANEL's new Spring makeup, Collection Rêverie Parisienne, has arrived on the beauty counters.  Inspired by the gardens of Paris, it's a beautiful collection of pinks and corals.

This is my first Spring purchase - Rouge Coco Shine, Hydrating Sheer Lipshine, in Étourdie (no. 98), a raspberry pink with a lovely shimmer.

I don't think I can resist the lovely Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow palette in Tissé Paris (no. 238).  It contains four eyeshadows - an intense rosewood, a soft rosewood, slate grey and sheer ivory.

I also liked Rouge Allure Velvet, Luminous Matte Lip Colour, in La Romanesque (no. 50), an intense violet/fuschia shade and Le Vernis Nail Colour in Désirio (no. 643), which could be described as a magenta or fuschia shade.

Meanwhile, there was another garden at the recent CHANEL Haute Couture Spring 2015 collection presented in Paris.  The setting for the show was a botanical glasshouse with animated hothouse flowers in many colours and the very pretty collection reflected this theme. A chic gardener, dressed in beige and white opened the show followed by some brightly coloured little suits with flared mini skirts in apricot, blue, yellow and deep pink with black.  There were tweed suits with a new look - cropped jackets exposing the midriff or with fringed tweed. Hats were very significant - beanies with little veils or the huge"cloud" hats.  All the outfits were worn with little black boots.

I thought this was a beautiful Spring collection.
